Flexible CAT7 S/FTP network cable on a GT235 cable drum for professional use. Fitted shielded Hirose RJ45 CAT6A connectors and an abrasion-resistant PUR jacket are suitable for mobile AV, event and network connections.
Construction and connectors
Cable: KLOTZ C7PS/F06 [P] / C7P06P, 4 × 2 × AWG26/7, stranded bare copper; S/FTP shielding with individual AL/PET foil around each pair and an overall tinned copper braid. Black PUR jacket, outer diameter 6.3 mm.
Connectors and drum: shielded Hirose RJ45 CAT6A male connector at each end; black connector shells, two transparent heat-shrink sleeves for custom labelling and a GT235 cable drum.
Performance and electrical properties
Frequency range up to 600 MHz and data rate up to 10 Gbit/s. Suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, 1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T links and applications such as EtherSound audio networks. The manufacturer also lists DMX control; verify equipment interface and wiring requirements. CAT7 refers to the cable category; the RJ45 connectors are rated CAT6A.
Electrical values: characteristic impedance 100 Ω ±15%, conductor resistance below 145 Ω/km, mutual capacitance 45 pF/m and propagation speed 0.76 c. Values apply to the C7P06 cable.
Typical cable attenuation: 100 MHz: 2.7 dB/10 m; 300 MHz: 4.7 dB/10 m; 600 MHz: 6.8 dB/10 m. Connector losses are not included in the cable values.
Operating conditions and standards
The PUR cable has an operating temperature range of −40 to +70 °C. The jacket resists abrasion, oils, microbes and chemicals. The data sheet specifies a minimum bending radius of 8 × outer diameter (50.4 mm) during installation and 4 × outer diameter (25.2 mm) in operation. Temperature and bending values apply to the cable.
According to the manufacturer, the cable meets CAT7 patch cable requirements under ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173-1, IEC 61156-6 and EN 50288-4-2. The data sheet specifies a maximum device-to-device cable length of 60 m at 100 Mbit/s, 1 Gbit/s and 10 Gbit/s; CP6RR1PW assemblies are available in 30 or 50 m lengths.
